I have 3.5 years of professional experience in software engineering. I have an MSc in computer science from the University of Birmingham. I have previously achieved an MPhil in philosophy from Cambridge, and a first class BA in philosophy from Trinity College Dublin. I enjoy solving problems with code. Taking an abstract problem and rendering it into explicit, logical components is something programming has in common with philosophy. My background and present studies have fostered strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. My interests include software engineering, machine learning (in particular, natural language processing), and the philosophy of language. In my spare time I enjoy board games such as Go and Inis, cooking, and lifting weights.
