• Reporting to the COO - Medirest, I was accountable for the review and restructure of the operational delivery team with the objective to improve support and operational delivery for three national multi site, multi service clients, ultimately securing a further contract tenure.

• Reporting to the COO - Medirest, I was responsible for a large-scale growth and transformation project to service each of the DHBs across the country; ultimately resulting in reduced costs for the health sector, but including improved patient experience, nutrition standards and technology.
• KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Signed 15-year food services contract participation for patient and community meals, staff and visitor retail with six DHBs worth circa $50M p.a.
• Transformational change of food services in 15 Hospitals, impacting approximately 4.5M meals per annum. All milestone outcomes achieved on time.

• Launched a new electronic menu management system with electronic ordering in all hospitals; reduced risk, increased traceability and enhanced patient interaction.
• Launched the new menu product range, prepared by specialist suppliers to company specified nutrition and quality standards.
• Delivered a fundamental shift in client engagement, developing new relationships at Board, executive and general management levels.
• Delivered extended business capability by establishing new food technology, lean process, and specialist service development and communications roles.
• Successfully maintained positive client and stakeholder relationships during significant national media coverage; responsible for a company communications, PR and media strategy, acted as spokesperson and established positive engagement across multiple media outlets that delivered neutral to positive coverage.

• Reporting to the Managing Director, NZ I led the final 18 months of a national bid process; the largest single Government contract ever to be tendered in New Zealand and the largest ever contract signed by Compass Group anywhere in the world (maximum revenue opportunity $110M per annum).
• KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Signed national Foodservice Agreement for patient and community meals, retail and ward supplies worth a maximum $110M per annum over 15 years.
• Delivered opportunity for health sector benefits of $12M per annum, supported by non-financial benefits of improved nutrition and food quality outcomes, transformational technology and capital investment.

• Reporting to the Director Sales and Marketing, I undertook a fixed term secondment to establish a green-field commercial and legal role to support the sales and operations teams across all business sectors.

• Reporting to the Director Sales and Marketing, I led the strategic relationships with the business’ top 40 clients (80% ARO). I directly retained key accounts worth $6.5M revenue p.a and delivered organic revenue growth of 10% in existing key accounts.

• Reporting to the North Island Regional Manager – Medirest, I led the contract extension and operational implementation process for a national senior living food services contract; the first senior living national contract framework for the NZ business.
• KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Signed national Foodservice Agreement for resident and community meals and retail worth $2M annual revenue over 5 years; incorporating all new client sites to the future.
• Transitioning all sites on time and within budget, sites achieved annual budgeted PBIT of 9% within the first 12 months.
• Established a future account management programme including key performance indicators, regular reporting and review and annual strategic planning workshops.

• Reporting to the North Island Regional Manager – Medirest, I was the operational lead for the business's second largest NZ account worth $9M revenue p.a. Responsible for the patient and community meals, retail and ward supplies provision and leadership of an operational delivery team of approximately 125 managers and staff.
• KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Transformed financial performance from loss-making account to a 10% unit profit within 8 months of taking over operational leadership.
• Achieved enhanced patient and customer satisfaction through a new patient and community meals menu; delivered operational efficiency through lean process review in key areas of patient service delivery, patient meal plating and dishwashing.
• Transformed operation from a business balance scorecard audit result fail, to a pass of above 90%; established key responsibilities to ensure sustainable compliance, including training requirements.
• Established a transparent and positive client relationship, overcoming the challenging environment of mistrust created by the previous Service Provider.
