Engineering Manager, Regulated Cloud, Google Cloud. I work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, compliance, and digital sovereignty, helping build the foundation for how enterprises operate in the most regulated environments on the planet. Previously worked in FinTech, Ecommerce and RegTech. Made the deliberate move into regulated cloud because I believe sovereignty is the next major architectural shift in enterprise technology, not a compliance checkbox, but a competitive strategy. Writing about it weekly in Regulated Cloud, a newsletter on regulated and sovereign cloud architecture for practitioners building in this space. When it comes to technology I’m “stack agnostic”, as I’ve worked with multiple stacks (Javascript, Java, Python, Ruby, Golang), cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Heroku) and tools. I regularly assess constraints and trade-offs to determine the optimal technology stack for each company's unique circumstances. Some of my duties as an Engineering Leader: - Work closely with the stakeholders to find out what the business's goals and priorities are. - Take charge of the tech roadmap and cost structure, and talk to the founders about balancing scope and cost. - Do your own hiring. I look for engineers, product managers, data scientists, etc., interview them, hire them, and get them started on my teams. - Handle the day-to-day delivery of technology, including defining features, managing engineers, and coordinating releases. - Talk to clients, partners, vendors, and investors for due diligence, integrations, etc. - Lead compliance and security, usually high stakes in the Fintech space
