About

Building products that scale to real-world users is my mission statement. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Amazon Lab126 at the Devices and Services FinTech team where I also spent a Summer and Fall interning. I pursued an MS in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I have a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and cloud computing. My experience includes working as a software engineer at Gojek, where I led the development of Skynet, an infrastructure-as-code solution using Terraform that onboarded over 1300 internal applications. I have been a Google Summer of Code student and a mentor for two projects. I developed Poll Plus, a polling app downloaded over 1600 times, and founded RC4Community, a React-based platform for online communities with over 30 stars on GitHub. I also have experience working with machine learning, having modeled an end-to-end architecture using Keras to predict landslides with 94% accuracy during my research internship at DRDO. In addition to my technical skills, I am also an active member of the tech community. I co-led the UMass Amherst team for the Alexa Prize Challenge, where I focus on LLM deployments and scaling on AWS. I have mentored two projects at Rocket.Chat for Google Summer of Code 2022, and I started InfInITy, a competitive programming contest at IIIT Pune that receives over 12,000 submissions globally on Codechef every year. I have also been recognized for my work, receiving the Best Innovation Award in Computer Science for my paper FastV2C-HandNet at ICICC, UILA 2020. I am always seeking new challenges to grow my skills, knowledge and opportunities. • Ask Rino
  • Ask Rino is an AI companion allowing Amazonians within Devices and Services to operate on sensitive financial data and automate repeated workflows.
  • Ask Rino has been featured at several internal DaS FinTech conferences and is being expanded into other Finance orgs at Amazon. More than 110 Amazonians have had 1500+ conversations in 3 months of its launch. It is actively being pushed by DaS Finance VPs into cross-org adoption at Amazon.
  • As one of the two lead backend engineers, I built some of the most important features in Ask Rino:
  • Designing and architecting a Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure that will integrate all finance services at DaS directly into Ask Rino.
  • Added agentic capabilities to Ask Rino to allow it to write and execute SQL on sensitive financial databases.
  • Built the file-upload feature allowing users to upload up to 9 types of files (pdf, csv, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, html, txt, md) and ask questions based on it.
  • Secured Ask Rino's citation sources and links with CloudFront Signer allowing restricted access within Amazon.
  • Solved a critical ThrottlingException error due to Claude Sonnet 3.5 model’s rate limits by proposing a novel model cycling method that allowed us to scale up to 600 requests per minute.
  • Query API
  • Designed and built the Query API to perform complex mathematical calculations to perform blending for monthly and lifetime reports of device costs.
  • The Query API has become central to displaying data in the reports. It is also used by other services to perform blending. More than 2,100 calls to the Query API have been made by users in 4 months since I created it.
  • Optimized the query API further to achieve a latency reduction of 1/50 times its initial value reducing the time to calculate lineage at the deepest level from 33.47 seconds to 546.04 milliseconds.
