Dr. Suman De has been part of SAP since 2015 and currently leads the Research and Industry-Academia Collaborations at SAP Labs India. He is also a former Product Manager and Location Head for Public Cloud ERP Product Management in India and a graduate of the prestigious SAP Academy for Engineering. In the last few years, he has been driving data and telemetry strategies for SaaS ERP, while also contributing to the formation of SAP’s new operating model and the development of best practice guides for Corporate Strategy and Product Engineering transformation. In the past, he has also contributed to topics such as research & academia, strategic & customer engagements, app development, and startup co-innovation initiatives for SAP. Suman successfully defended his PhD thesis at IIT Kharagpur on Predictive Analytics for Industrial Digital Twins and has published over 50 papers, including in IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, which is recognized as one of the topmost AI journals in the world. As a recognized thought leader, he frequently contributes as a keynote speaker and reviewer at global conferences. He has received 9 Thought Leadership honors at SAP, was nominated for the IET Indian Youth Engineering Icon of the year in 2024, and has won 3 Best Technical Research Paper awards in International Conferences. Outside SAP, Suman has been a Visiting Professor at the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and a mentor at IIT Kharagpur and BITS Pilani, while supervising 10 M.Tech. dissertation projects. He has guided 30+ first-time researchers and collaborated with 20+ startups, advancing his mission to bridge product, research, and education.
