I was a Staff Research Scientist (AI/ML) in the VDI lab at Samsung Research America. Majority of my research focused on multimodal modeling for video understanding involving vision based DL or Vision Language Models. I have completed Master of Science in Computer Science specializing in Data Science from the University of Southern California(2019-2020). I hold years of experience working as an Applied Researcher, researching and adapting ML solutions to solve real business problems for various startups in India. At USC, I worked as a research student for the research lab at Information Science Institute. I worked on a DARPA research project called "SocialSim". I have taken advanced courses towards my MS degree and implemented many state of the art research papers in the field of NLP, Deep Learning and Natural Dialogue Systems. I have a couple of research papers on my research work in the field that have been accepted in prestigious conferences like AAMAS'20, Strata Data Conf etc. Last company I was part of before my MS was GO-JEK, a Jakarta based technology startup with more than 20+ services. As a cross functional Data Scientist there, I have had the chance to explore and develop many cool & challenging features for these products - defined pickup point experience for car/ride service, designing algorithm for pre-booking food ETA for food service etc. Before that I worked as a Data Scientist at Zendrive, Bangalore, India where I developed algorithm for event detectors in time series data (using motion sensor and GPS data). Previously worked as a Data Scientist for Engineering & Innovation team of Delhivery, a logistics company, Bangalore, India. The main responsibility of the team was to come up with new ideas to improve process efficiency with appropriate cost reduction.It involved the development of tools with proper implementation of Machine Learning/NLP glued with the proper understanding of the operations research. Projects were vehicle utilization prediction, address structuring, automated daily run sheet creation, inventory management etc. The work involved massive exploration, research & learning on a topic along with an efficient implementation of final solution. Before Delhivery, I worked as a Decision Scientist in MuSigma, Bangalore, India for the customer insights team of a US-based-e-commerce giant client, focusing on numerous ways to gauge user behavior & helping them in acquisition & retention of their customers. Projects involved were market basket analysis, campaign design, customer segmentation, retention strategy planning etc.
