• Built a pipeline for classification of various e-commerce products into various categories. Learnt various stages in the lifecycle of a data science project, in this case starting from:
• 1) building a distributed crawler service to gather data using Apache Nutch
• 2) Parsing the data using open source library Scrapy
• 3) Cleaning the data using various NLP techniques
• 4) Finding similarity between various titles and descriptions using deep-learning libraries like GloVe and word2vec
• 5) classifying and tagging the products using meta information and text classification techniques.
• The final product could look at the person's URL(ecommerce) and tag his interest into various categories.

My role here was to provide feedback and insights into the various products that the company was offering, from a student's perspective. The immersive learning experience ended with a capstone project, where we had to ideate, design and pitch a product. Was adjudged the best intern for the same.
