  • Anusaaraka is a Natural Language Processing (NLP) Research and Development project undertaken by CIF. It is a machine translation system with a difference, as it commits to providing the users an output which gives them access to the original text with 100% faithfulness. This is achieved by giving a layered output of how the given English text is translated to Hindi, online help and user-training.
  • Another salient feature of Anusaaraka is that it uses Indian grammatical concepts in its language analysis and more importantly, it takes inspiration from the information theoretic aspect of Paninian grammar in its design and development. The core underlying philosophy of Anusaaraka is the ‘yagna’ spirit which enables and encourages people to participate in the development and improvement of the software. Thereby, the masses need not merely be consumers of technology but can also become contributors.
  • This project is being carried out in collaboration with the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) and University of Hyderabad, Department of Sanskrit Studies.
