• Working on backend infrastructure for an internet-scale web application security and attack surface monitoring platform.
• Key contributions include designing and building distributed systems for large-scale asset discovery, vulnerability scanning, and web data ingestion across millions of internet-facing applications.
• Led migration of the backend from a MongoDB-based architecture to a PostgreSQL + Redis queue-driven system, rewriting database layers across the codebase and building a dedicated PostgreSQL writer service for reliable asynchronous data processing.
• Refactored monolithic backend controllers into distributed microservices connected through event-driven queues, implementing an aggregator service responsible for orchestration, retry logic, and failure recovery.
• Designed and implemented a large-scale web artifact ingestion pipeline, automatically launching AWS instances to fetch and process archived internet data in parallel and storing results in ClickHouse for high-performance analysis.
• Built the backend for the platform’s Attack Surface Management (ASM) system, enabling automated discovery of enterprise assets and initiating vulnerability scans across discovered infrastructure.
• Developed a template-based vulnerability detection engine compatible with Nuclei templates to automate detection of web application security issues.
• Led migration of backend services from JavaScript to TypeScript, improving maintainability and type safety across the codebase.
