About

Many enterprises no longer debate whether AI matters. The harder question is why so many initiatives stay stuck in pilots, isolated use cases, and strategy decks, without changing how work happens and how decisions are made. At Zühlke, I lead Cybernetic Transformation globally. We help CTOs, CIOs, and engineering leaders turn AI ambition into an operating model: measurable feedback loops across people, process, and technology, supported by platform engineering and modern delivery practices. My approach is shaped by more than two decades of increasing responsibility. I started in hands-on software engineering and architecture, moved into consulting and engagement leadership, and evolved into executive and partner roles with accountability for delivery, people, and long-term business performance. This background matters. I don’t treat AI, platforms, and operating models as abstractions. I treat them as systems that must work organisationally, operationally, and commercially. Not just technically. A core part of my work is bridging strategy and execution: aligning enterprise architecture, governance, and platform foundations so teams can deliver measurable outcomes in complex environments. This is not a one-person effort. We scale through multidisciplinary teams and a reusable playbook, operating model, platform foundations, and delivery enablement designed to work across organisations and industries. My role is to lead the advisory and alignment; our teams support execution and enablement as needed. In addition, I contribute through thought leadership and teaching: as an author (The Cybernetic Enterprise), lecturer, and community builder (DevOps Meetup Zürich / DevOpsDays Zürich). Thought leadership is a leadership responsibility. Translating complexity into clear, decision-relevant narratives. If you are exploring how to move from AI experimentation to real impact, through operating model, platforms, and delivery performance, feel free to reach out. • I lead Cybernetic Transformation globally at Zühlke. My focus is helping CTOs/CIOs turn AI ambition into an operating model that improves decision-making and delivery performance in complex enterprises.
  • Key responsibilities and focus areas:
  • Owning and scaling Zühlke’s Cybernetic Transformation capability across operating model, AI integration, platform engineering, and governance
  • Advising executive teams on target operating models: decision cadence, feedback loops, metrics, and organisational design
  • Aligning enterprise architecture and platform strategy with delivery execution (teams, platforms, guardrails, investment steering)
  • Enabling measurable delivery improvements (flow, reliability, predictability) through platform engineering and DevOps at scale
  • Thought leadership: authoring, speaking, and teaching to translate complexity into decision-relevant narratives

Chief of DevOps & Partner

Promoted

Jan 2021Jan 2024 · 3 yrs

  • As Chief of DevOps, I built and scaled DevOps capabilities and offerings across the DACH region. The focus was on making delivery performance measurable and sustainable: faster flow, higher reliability, and clear governance.
  • Scope of work:
  • Owned the DevOps capability and skills portfolio across DACH (communities, enablement, hiring profiles, quality standards)
  • Built and positioned the DevOps service offering: advisory framing, packaging, and delivery patterns
  • Supported client engagements as executive sparring partner (operating model, platform strategy, DevSecOps, reliability, metrics)
  • Typical topics:
  • DevOps at scale (operating model, ways of working, governance)
  • Platform engineering foundations (self-service, guardrails, developer experience)
  • DevSecOps, quality engineering, and observability / SRE as part of the delivery system
  • Outcome: A consistent DevOps offering and delivery approach that could be reused across clients and teams.

Lecturer and Co-Lead CAS Enterprise Architecture

Sep 2024Present · 1 yr 6 mos · Risch-Rotkreuz, Zug, Switzerland · On-site

  • I co-lead and teach the CAS Enterprise Architecture program. The focus is on turning EA into a practical operating discipline that bridges business and IT and improves decision-making in transformation.
  • What participants learn:
  • EA fundamentals and modelling (TOGAF, ArchiMate, BPMN) with a clear link to business outcomes
  • Business–IT alignment: capabilities, value streams, and target architectures
  • Governance and portfolio decisions: principles, standards, and investment trade-offs
  • Practical application through cases and hands-on exercises
  • Outcome: Participants leave with an actionable EA toolkit they can apply immediately in transformation initiatives.

Lecturer CAS Digital Transformation

Aug 2024Present · 1 yr 7 mos · Risch-Rotkreuz, Zug, Switzerland · On-site

  • I teach digital transformation as an operating challenge, not a technology project. The module connects strategy, operating model, and delivery so participants can translate “digital” into decisions, measurable outcomes, and execution.
  • Focus areas:
  • Digital strategy and business models
  • Customer-centric value creation and end-to-end processes
  • Data & cloud foundations for scalable change
  • Operating model, governance, and change leadership
  • Measuring progress (outcomes, adoption, flow)
  • Outcome: Participants leave with a practical transformation toolkit: how to set direction, design the operating model, and drive execution with clear feedback loops.

Lecturer CAS DevOps Leadership and Agile Methods

Jul 2024Present · 1 yr 8 mos · Risch-Rotkreuz, Zug, Switzerland · On-site

  • I teach DevOps leadership as a management system for delivery: how to improve flow, reliability, and quality while aligning teams, architecture, and governance.
  • Focus areas:
  • Agile delivery systems: Scrum, Kanban, and scaling patterns
  • Continuous delivery & automation: from code to production, everything-as-code
  • Platform engineering & developer experience: enabling teams with self-service and guardrails
  • DevSecOps, quality, and reliability: security and quality built into the system
  • Leadership & culture: operating model, teaming, and change
  • Outcome: Participants leave with practical tools to improve delivery performance (flow, stability, and feedback loops) and to lead the organisational change required to sustain it.
