Rhys Sullivan — Software Engineer
Looking at my portfolio on https://rhyssullivan.com/ you'll see a wide range of projects from developing apps, to making websites, to developing games. I've even got a project on there where I figured out how to get speed data from a spin bike and race against AI that I wrote. The reason for this is at my core I'm an engineer and a creator. I get excited about a project and use that passion to drive my development, it doesn't matter what the field the project is in, I'll learn the relevant languages and tools to develop my projects. Because of this, my skillset spans the gambit of technologies and languages, from C++ and Python, to large tools like React and Unreal Engine. I'm not afraid of diving into a field I've never been in before and attempting to become an expert at it. Most recently I have been building https://www.answeroverflow.com/ - AnswerOverflow is a platform for making questions and answers sent in help channels of Discord servers accessible. There's millions of questions and answers sent in public channels in public servers and AnswerOverflow is working to help people access those. This was another one of my projects that I dove into and learned the relevant skills for. I went from being inexperienced with web development, to learning the entire stack, including the frontend, backend, database management, and deployment. All while ensuring that I was following respecting users privacy and the Terms of Service of the APIs I was using. If you need an engineer who is excited to learn and create, I just may be the right person for you.
