Guillermo Ruiz — Co-Founder
Cloud costs keep rising. Performance bottlenecks slow teams down, and engineering leaders are asked to “do more with less” every quarter. I know that world firsthand. After co-founding a startup and working as an infrastructure engineer, I became obsessed with solving the tension between innovation and efficiency. Along the way, I’ve built real-time AIOps platforms, designed sentiment analysis systems for the gaming industry (PlayStation), and explored augmented reality for data center operations. Today, as a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect in the Efficient Compute team at AWS, I help organizations modernize their compute strategy by optimizing CPU architectures, advancing inference engineering, and embedding confidential computing into production systems. My focus is on making AI scalable and cost-efficient without defaulting to accelerators, and on protecting sensitive workloads through strong isolation, attestation, and hardware-rooted trust. Core focus areas: - Inference Engineering on CPUs: efficient model serving, RAG pipelines, workload optimization, and price-performance driven AI architectures - Confidential Computing: secure execution and cryptographic isolation with Nitro Enclaves and TPM, protecting sensitive data paths, keys, and regulated AI workloads through hardware-rooted trust and attestation. - Efficient Compute Strategy: Graviton, Spot, Karpenter, and architecture decisions that improve performance per watt - Performance Engineering and Observability: benchmarking, bottleneck analysis, and telemetry-driven optimization I also share these practices as an international speaker, technical writer, and co-host of the “Charlas Técnicas de AWS” podcast, ranked in the Top 10%, with recognitions including Grafana Champion and Arm Developer Ambassador, and previously VMware vExpert, Cisco Champion, and HashiCorp Ambassador. And my secret passion? Space. I build side projects to observe satellites, measure starlight, and experiment with efficient compute and AI at the edge. My mission is to make inference engineering, performance-driven compute, and confidential computing the default, not the exception. 👉🏻 If you are a CTO, architect, or engineering leader looking to reduce cost, increase performance, or rethink how AI runs in production, let’s connect.
