• I was responsible for maintaining storage services components for windows 2003/2008 server operating systems. This involved shipping Hotfixes, GDR (General Distribution Releases) and Servicepacks. The responsibility area included servicing the storage stack, partition manager upwards. Storage resource manager, other allied components and services that interact together.

• Later I changed my ownership area to SMB(Windows Native file sharing protocol), which involves working on the client side SMB redirector and buffering subsystem(RDBSS). As well as their corresponding server end components. The nature of work involves intense debugging and problems vary from hard to find and debug small point fixes to complicated design level changes.
• Also as part of my role, I handle the following aspects:
• Mentoring engineers, mostly the go to person for different debugging issues or some tricky fix. Guiding my test counterpart in coming up with test cases, working with them on hard to hit repro as well as contributing to their triage calls in the internal test frameworks.
• Code review sign offs, answering technical queries on various distribution lists.
• Giving organisation wide technical training and presentations on key OS and system internals topics.

• Design, development and testing of the following features for proSUN RAID controller:
• A generic RAID "framework" layer, responsible for managing caching and synchronization of stripes for different RAID algorithms.
• Implementing RAID 0-5-6 as well as JBOD.
• On-line rebuild,expansion, re-sync, cloning. Performance tuning, implementing API for AAU(Application Accelerator Unit) in Intel 80331, adding support for RAID 6 Galois Field multiplications.
• Also, closely worked with the hardware team in resolving issues with the controller. The product is released as part epica series of solution.
• Development activities also involve designing and implementing a prototype for a hardware snapshot provider.

• Design and Implemented OEM Filter API for IMLinkage 2.0
• IM Linkage is an enterprise-class development and deployment environment for easily building IM capabilities into applications. OEM filter API provides a simple (protocol independent) event based interface for managing the IM events, like enabling/blocking of login-in/messages/file-transfers. Also enable applications to log messages/inject notifications etc.
• Designed and implemented Internal Routing support for instant messages.
• July 2003 – July 2004 : ‘Backuppro:Volsnap 1.0’
• Implemented a volume level snapshot driver for windows 2000/XP
• Designed and implemented a device driver which provides point in time images of volume. This project is identical in implementation to the default provider of volume shadow service on windows XP and 2003 Server. It also involved integration with Volume shadow service (from Microsoft) to ensure application level integrity for VSS aware application. Also interacted(as a part of team) with the client to identify the requirements and come up with a set of specifications, identifying different phases and deliverable.
