I'm Assistant Professor of The Practice at Carnegie Mellon University, connecting HCI and Design academia with professional work and vice versa. I was a professional designer for over 20 years, 12+ years of that managing UX teams for everything from robots to Twitter. I’ve written four books on design, including the best-seller Microinteractions. I have a Master’s degree in Design from Carnegie Mellon, and it’s an honor to have been nominated for the National Design Award ten times.
