About

I research early developmental literacy. My thesis focuses on the skills and barriers involved in Chinese and Chinese as a Second Language literacy. You can learn more about my background and research at my website linked on this page. I love teaching and writing, which I have done both professionally and on a volunteer basis for years. There is no better joy than sharing knowledge with others, particularly when that information is difficult to understand. To that end, I volunteer my time online teaching people about practical topics related to reading and writing research, as well as advice on research methods for other scientists in my field. If you're wondering what the image in my banner is, it is from a Monte Carlo simulation I ran on models which were either fit with continuous or dichotomized predictors, with detrimental effects shown in the dichotomized models (in gray).
