• NAM (a joint venture with Exxon) operates one of the largest gas field assets in the world, the Groningen Gas field. Coordination and execution of the delivery of damage claims and handling where gas production from a deep sub-surface reservoir led to Richter 3+ scale earthquakes, public and political outrage and significant damage to property. Now working towards accelerated energy transition in The Netherlands.
• Responsible for a substantial program budget and, from a complex background: i) assembled and led a multi-functional team of experts (150 headcount) ii) defined legally, financially and publicly acceptable policies and protocols and iii) in a highly sensitive situation, acted as a NAM’s spokesperson (Government and Press Relations, and in the Courts)- media trained.
• Ensured throughout that Shell/Exxon delivered against the promise given to those eligible for compensation by the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs and National Co-ordinator Hans Alders to mitigate impact on gas production. Delivered major gamechanger though “NAM at distance” and subsequent contracts.

• Governor of the Sales & Purchasing Agreement (SPA) on the JV between Shell Global Lubricants and Qatar Petroleum (QP), with global responsibility for the Global on-sale of 1.5m tonnes of base oil produced by QP.
• Led Base Oils part of ‘Project Mammoth’ Shell’s most complex and largest global supply chain undertaking to date.
• Recruited and managed all project, scheduling and planning teams, and set up a successful end-to-end supply chain from Qatar into hubs (Hong Kong, Houston and Hamburg) including all storage facilities, coordinated global logistics operations, including all sea vessels, barges, rail and truck.
• Negotiated major long-term supply contacts with major IOC's for Gas to Liquids Base Oils (GTL), valued at multi-$bn

• Took over a disjointed business and articulated the ‘2012 Strategy’ to divest or converge local and regional processing plants and for Qatar (see previous item) to become the centre for base oil production and supply.
• Led the team successfully through a major change/transition period (high levels of uncertainty) whilst maintaining P&L targets including i) closing large global deals adding significant net margin and ii) the roll-out of new sales and operations in e.g. France, Italy, Turkey and South Africa.
