About

You're senior enough that most career advice doesn't apply to you anymore. The generic stuff — optimise your CV, practise your STAR stories, post on LinkedIn — that's not where you're stuck. Where you're stuck is harder to name. Maybe you've outgrown the role but can't articulate what you want next. Maybe you're weighing two options and neither feels clean. Maybe you've already started a search and it's gone sideways — not because you lack experience or know-how, but because your positioning doesn't match your seniority. That's what I work on. I'm a career strategist for mid-senior Big Tech professionals — Amazon L6/L7, Microsoft 63–65, and equivalents — who are making moves that will shape the next five years. Not lateral shuffles. Decisions with real weight. What I actually do: pressure-test your thinking before you act, diagnose where your signal is weak, translate your value into systems that don't yet know you, and make sure the move you're about to make is the right one — not just the available one. I got into this work because I've seen what happens when the role actually fits — not just the title or the comp, but the work itself. It changes how people lead, how they show up at home, how much energy they have left at the end of the day. I've watched it happen enough times now that I don't think of it as idealism. It's what follows when smart people stop settling and start making deliberate moves. Before coaching, I spent 8 years at Amazon (product marketing across Prime, Fire tablets and Fire TV and sales enablement for field sales) and 2 years at Microsoft. I've operated inside the systems my clients are trying to enter, exit, or move between. That's not a talking point — it's how I read situations faster than most coaches can. I work with clients two ways: → Land & Thrive (1:1) — for leaders forming or recalibrating a high-stakes career decision. Deep, diagnostic, bespoke. Typically 10–15 sessions over several months. → Ready to Land (cohort) — a 6-week hybrid programme for experienced professionals who've already decided the next move and need to execute with clarity. Small groups, runs 5x per year. If you're in a moment that feels consequential — even if you can't fully articulate why yet — book a 20-minute clarity call: https://calendly.com/mfdcoaching/clarity

Career Strategist

Sep 2022Present · 3 yrs 6 mos · Greater London

  • I work with mid-senior Big Tech professionals making career transitions that carry real weight — new companies, new sectors, first moves outside FAANG, or re-entries after a break.
  • My approach is diagnostic and direct. I help clients pressure-test decisions, sharpen their positioning, and translate their authority into unfamiliar systems. But the reason I do this work is simpler than the method: I believe the right role changes everything, and too many smart people stay in the wrong role for too long.
  • Core offers: 1:1 career strategy (Land & Thrive) and 6-week hybrid cohort (Ready to Land)
  • Clients come from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google — and land at organisations including Adobe, Cisco, Square, and high-growth startups. Often with stronger comp, sharper positioning, and a move that actually makes sense for what's next.
