• Co-founded and took Snapp Automotive from a concept to being a UK company with a seven figure (GBP/EUR/USD) annual revenue and multiple customers in the Top 10 global automotive groups as a hands-on CTO.
• Snapp Automotive helps automotive companies modernise their infotainment offerings by providing a set of replacements for components in Android Automotive OS that used modern best practices (e.g. Jetpack Compose), and providing services that helped companies either integrate our product, develop proof of concepts based on it, or develop their own systems using modern Android best practices and rapid, iterative, development processes.
• I was responsible for the engineering teams across the company that worked on a variety of product and project related development (roughly 20 contractors/FTEs at peak). I also oversaw, and was directly involved in, the creation of development aides, including AI code review tools, custom emulators, app and firmware distributions systems, and a low-cost ARM based development kit, which allowed us to increase development velocity.
• As a hands-on CTO I also was involved in coding (Kotlin, Java), system architecture design (backend, scalable, distributed systems using AWS and rented servers), and deployment (CI/CD using GitHub Actions and Forgejo for firmware and apps), and reviewing the code and designs of others. I also assisted our customers evaluate propositions they've received from other companies to ensure they align with project goals.
• The technologies we've developed were seen as innovative within the industry, and are in use by multiple companies, in different parts of the automotive industry, around the world.

• Lead of the Mobile Developer Experience team. Worked across multiple teams and organisations within the company to identify and design the most impactful way of delivering improvements to developer productivity before the company decided to refocus the team in the US.

• I founded Funky Android Ltd. to focus on Android development. The company initially developed an Android Application Store called AndAppStore which included features such as paid applications and licensing. AndAppStore was sold in 2010 to the Seavus Group.
• After 2010 Funky Android worked with various companies on Android projects such as developing the firmware for the OUYA Android games console, customising Android for Tesco's Hudl2 tablet to provide child safety functionality, and the Enterprise Password Safe which was a Java web based application which allowed companies to security store passwords and audit access to them.
• The company was profitable, didn’t need to raise funding from banks, or venture capitalists, and had customers ranging from military and government organisations, to finance, through to SMBs in multiple sectors.
