About

I build talented, motivated and lean engineering organizations and leading them to results they pride. I have built software products and teams from ZERO to launch and scale in enterprises and startups with seed stage budget to Series C. - Grew Freo (MoneyTap) from one banking partner, one alpha app to multiple banks, multiple countries and multiple apps and API based acquisition channels. - Ezetap only had a harware prototype when I joined. From concept to launch to growth and several pivots including professional services, I owned SaaS. That requires me to be a very hands-on engineer, architect and mentor to teams that are shaped up to be self-managed. Concept to prototype; prototype to release; release to scale; release to steady state with monitoring, support, tuning and total pivot at times; and doing all these with ambitious and often ambiguous user stories with predictability and quality. Three weeks' sprints with aggressive prioritization and demo dates are my preferred way to build and scale teams. I've been a user of various open source software from 1995 with hand compiled Linux Kernel ethernet card modules running on my desktops. Since 2011, I've regularly chosen Linux, Ruby, Python, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and node.js to run production.
