  • General Manager and lead inventor of Amazon Key for Business. Took this idea from a prototype developed on my own initiative in my apartment to receiving $XXXMM in investment from Amazon Logistics and growing the footprint of Amazon Key for Business from Zero to XMM residential units in 2 years from launch. Own all aspects of the business. Directly hired and manage sales, operations, software, hardware, product, and data teams. During this time, I grew from a Sr. Product Manager - Technical (Individual Contributor) to Manager, Product Management-Technical to being promoted to Sr. Manager, Product Management - Tech.

Gift wrapping robot

Inventor

Oct 2012Mar 2014 · 1 yr 5 mos · United States

  • In my spare time, I along with a friend built a working prototype for a fully-automated gift-wrapping robot. With the realization of this prototype, we overcame a majority of the technical challenges associated with the development of a high-throughput, networked and fully-automated robot to be integrated into online retail warehouses. We filed three provisional patents that cover paper management, box management, the wrapping process and customization.

Mechanical Design Engineer, Robotics

Jul 2012Oct 2014 · 2 yrs 3 mos · United States

  • Created a generalized process to formulate highly accurate, efficient, optimized kinematic and dynamic models for wafer-handling robots. This process greatly reduces the time, cost, and uncertainty for developing a robot prototype. It has lead to the creation of a reliable repeatable process for auto-generating fast, compact code for kinematics and dynamics -- as required by model--based control. It also helps the robot design and control processes (link/gear geometry, frictional behavior, motor sizing, dynamic \& vibration characteristics, controllability, parameter estimation, etc.).

Tesla motors

Intern

May 2011Dec 2011 · 7 mos · United States

  • Conceived, designed and implemented a modular Contactor Economizer PCB to reduce energy consumption from the battery pack. Redesigned and implemented a Contactor Durability Tester to bring the hardware simulation as close to the real world as possible. Designed and fabricated a second-generation modular remote charger discharger module.

  • Optimized the drive train of the C Class limousine for Noise Vibration and Harshness issues through FEM simulations. Achieved a reduction of 6 dB in pitching amplitude of differential. Made a key discovery in the relation between the torsional stiffness of the half shafts and the pitching amplitude of the differential. Made a mathematical simulation of the rear sub frame and differential for second order torsional engine excitations.

Fisita, germany, 2008

World Travelling Fellow

Sep 2008Oct 2008 · 1 mo

  • 1) One among 13 people selected globally for this program held in September, 2008 in Germany.
  • 2) Visited the research and manufacturing facilities of some of the world’s leading automobile firms: Daimler AG (Mercedes Benz Cars Division), BMW, Audi, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge and Bertrandt AG (a leading European engineering service provider).
  • 3) At Daimler
  • 3.a) We visited the fully automated, intelligent and highly efficient assembly line of the S class and spent time with the vehicle safety group, where we were introduced to the computational techniques used to design various passive safety features of cars.
  • 3.b) We were also given insights, by a group from the production planning department, into how simulations were used to plan the assembly line of a new manufacturing plant.
  • 4) Other interesting experiences from the fellowship included demonstrations of the use of virtual simulations by the BMW Design Group, the use of computations to validate the insulation of vehicle electronics from external electromagnetic radiations, the use of virtual simulators for trucks and the increasing importance of computation in the design and predictive maintenance of jigs and fixtures.

  • Formed and lead the first team of interdisciplinary engineering students from my university to take part in Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE), Italy, 2008. I was particularly involved in three major technical aspects: CAD modeling of the engine components, design of the engine mounts, and feeding in new fuel maps of the engine. Further, I coordinated the overall team management, including soliciting sponsorships from 15 Indian and Multinational firms.
