About

Over the last decade, I’ve built 12 teams and delivered $3.3B in tech projects without losing my mind. My mission is to help leaders escape the 60-hour grind by building high-performing teams that run without them. Because real leadership isn’t about doing more. It’s about having the freedom to do what really matters. (at work and in life) My results: - built teams from 0 to 50 individuals - scaled project portfolios from $10M to $3.3B - grew from regional to global (EU,NA,MENA,CIS) - trained 127 online in leadership & personal growth - welcomed our daughter (2), trying to be a good dad But here’s the deal. I’m no certified leadership guru. I’m a leader in the trenches. Doing work like you are. Growing real teams (and myself). Overcoming real struggles at work (and in life). Looking for progress, purpose (and joy) in what I do. And sharing my real-life experience and systems here. Ready to lead more, work less and enjoy the journey? Follow along. For everything else, I’m one DM away. The opinions I state on LinkedIn are my own, not those of any past or present company.

Amazon

Head of Operations Engineering, Global Engineering Services

Mar 2017Present · 9 yrs · Munich, Germany

  • Time to scale - Go Big or Go Home!
  • Back in 2017, returning to Amazon felt like the start of something huge!
  • An opportunity to apply everything I had learned, elevate my leadership skills and make a lasting impact.
  • Things got wild!
  • A 1000% increase in scope over just 7 years.
  • Let me explain:
  • → I began with a small team of 5 and now lead an organization of 50+ diverse and talented individuals (Sr Managers, Technical Program Managers, Engineering Project Managers).
  • → Scaled from managing $100MM annual project volume to $1B per year for material handling equipment and warehouse automation.
  • → Expanded my responsibilities from overseeing individual projects to owning the design, planning and execution of all Greenfield Fulfillment Centers and Inbound Cross Docks across Europe.
  • → Created the Technology Innovation Engineering Team that now develops next-gen solutions for robotics, packaging, sortation, conveyance, and labeling.
  • → Established a Design & Planning Team that influences long-term network strategies, develops templates of future Fulfillment Centers and drives cost optimization through value engineering.
  • I remain curious, looking for the next challenge.
  • Going where we haven't been before.
  • Despite all, it still feels like Day 1.

Head of Logistics Development, Fulfillment Center

Aug 2014Feb 2017 · 2 yrs 6 mos · Moscow, Russia

  • Once upon a time in Russia.
  • It all started in a hotel room in Moscow with a small group of people setting up the website for what would become the #1 online fashion and lifestyle destination in CIS.
  • By the time I joined, we were already a few hundred people - but that’s when things got interesting.
  • It was time to build our own logistics network.
  • No more relying on external fulfillment partners.
  • We were going to create everything from scratch: Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Centers, Delivery Stations and even an Express Delivery Service.
  • Our target: next day delivery for all customers across Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine.
  • How did we do it? Well...
  • → Partnered with leading intralogistics integrators to launch highly automated Fulfillment Centers
  • → Developed our own Warehouse Management System (the picking algorithm was fun...)
  • → Designed warehouse layouts, material flow diagrams and workstations
  • → Built and scaled a team of talented engineers and projects managers
  • → And yes... there were late nights sleeping on pallets
  • We started from scratch, but we built something that worked and had fun along the way.
  • Until today, lamoda is the leading online retailer in Russia and CIS.
