Matt Shore — Co-Founder
Like many, I have had a varied and diverse career (to use the term in its broadest sense). After graduating I had about a year in Architectural Practice, after which I began my own model-making business in Edinburgh for around 3 years, during which time I saved up to go travelling with my partner. In all we were away from the UK for over four years, eighteen months of which were spent working for a modelmaking company in Sydney. A few highlights of our travels included Easter Island, the Galapagos, Madagascar, mountain gorillas in Rwanda and the Nazca lines in Peru. After returning I continued modelmaking in Manchester, before returning to Scotland and settling in Aberfeldy. Here I worked in removals, sales and photography for a few years before trying my hand at Teacher Training in Design Technology. Soon after I started with SSE as a Technical Assistant for 12 years. I have recently found employment cutting firewood. Next I'm planning to get a paper round! I have also made efforts to get some of my writing published, and have my first children's book set for publication later in 2025. My books are aimed at young children and their parents, and most are themed around saving the planet and kindness. I have a black belt in puzzles, and was a Countdown Octochamp back in 2006. I still hold the dubious record of the highest losing score. I have two daughters who light up my sky.
