I am Shraya Sapru, an engineer turned governance consultant. With 6+ years of experience across consulting, sales, marketing and communications, I am currently a Senior Consultant at Samagra, a mission-driven governance consulting firm. Currently, as a program manager at Samagra, I lead a team of 5, working on a school education program with the Govt. of Haryana. Before this, I worked as a governance consultant with the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, focusing on healthcare, and with the Govt. of India on citizen-centric governance projects. I leveraged two key programs to make this transition: YLAC’s Policy in Action, where I co-authored a policy brief for a Member of Parliament, and the Global Governance Initiative, which deepened my understanding of the impact space. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights, and I’m eager to share these learnings with the community. Before my career in governance, I worked in a technical sales profile at ExxonMobil, managing 20+ clients in the plastics packaging industry, including companies like TetraPak and Unilever. This role offered a unique perspective, allowing me to interact with everyone from CEOs to shop floor clients. I hold a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from NITK Surathkal. Outside of work, I love exploring new food spots, enjoy writing (when inspired), and am trained in rifle shooting.
