While I work primarily in an AppSec role, I love all things hacking. And that might be a problem, because I have a never ending list of things I can't wait to learn. To me, things like network security, web app security, etc. are just like onions. Each day, my goal is to pick an onion and peel back another layer so I can get just a bit closer to having a complete understanding (if that's even possible) of a certain technology or technique. Because having the knowledge that something works a certain way doesn't satisfy me - I need to find out why it works that way. And when I do, that's when the dots really start connecting in my mind and the motivation comes to peel back the next layer.
