About

Serial technology entrepreneur since age 12, now a value-driven venture capitalist with a track record of backing over 800 startups across the globe. I’m a Co-Founder & General Partner at LvlUp Ventures, one of the world’s most active venture capital firms (#7 globally, #4 in the U.S. and #1 in Consumer Goods & Technology — PitchBook, 2025). LvlUp invests in and supports startups across 15 funds and programs, backing companies from pre-seed through growth stage. We take a uniquely wide-scope & value-driven approach to backing companies. Before venture, I built and scaled DebateIsland into the world’s largest debate-focused social network and EdTech platforms, reaching millions of users and serving students across more than 500 school districts, colleges, and universities. DebateIsland also pioneered early applications of artificial intelligence in online debating through Debra, its proprietary AI system. Built in collaboration with early technologies from Google and IBM, DebateIsland’s AI could analyze argument structure and estimate users’ likely political affiliations or supported presidential candidates based on just a single argument. I also served as an early team member at Medality (acquired at Series B) and founded the media technology startup & publication, The American Post. I lecture at Columbia Business School, Harvard Business School, and my Alma mater The George Washington University on startups, scaling businesses, corporate innovation, and venture capital.

  • LvlUp is one of the most active venture capital firms globally, supporting and backing over 500 startups per year across every major startup hub in 6 continents.
  • We strategically invest from pre-seed to Series B+ and are industry-agnostic. Our main difference-maker for startups: a bespoke, ecosystem-forward approach when working with founders — taking companies to the next level faster.
  • LvlUp is powered by a dynamic team of over 2,000 core and extended members.
  • We leverage our deep advantages in deal flow, bottom-up investment methodology, and value creation to: (1) accelerate startups at the early-stage through a novel bespoke approach that has produced top-quartile companies, (2) directly invest in mature seed startups that have shown defining vision and early traction, and (3) accelerate small cap to publicly traded startups to unlock newfound value and create trajectory-defining growth.
  • Expanding the limits of the startup & venture capital since its founding, LvlUp Ventures is the first and only VC firm to have accelerated mid-market & publicly-traded companies, is the creator of the VC super application, and pioneered the bespoke acceleration model.
  • In my role, I oversee our accelerators, incubators, partnerships, and growth & co-lead our fund investment committees.
  • Created and lead 10+ VC funds, accelerator and startup programs with almost 1,000 high-growth companies.
  • Served as a key leader in turn-around efforts, including a 9-figure publicly-traded AI company.
  • Launched and spearheaded services-driven business units from 0 to $XM ARR in under a year with F500 clients like Google & Fidelity, managing 6-figure P&L and teams of up to 15 direct reports.
  • Organized deep, cross-functional JV’s & partnerships with leading corporate groups, driving innovation, inorganic growth, and new product development.
