Nitin Chandra was born in Kanpur in a middle class family of Bihar. He did his schooling from Patna, IT grad from Delhi and later did Masters in film production from University of Pune, Department of Communication Studies. Started as an Assistant Director and early in his career established his own Production House in 2008 called “Champaran Talkies”, with office in Mumbai and work mostly in Bihar. His first documentary “Bring Back Bihar - Moment of Awakening” was screened at various places in India and abroad with hundreds of VCDs/DCDs were sold. That was starting point, after a few more documentary centred around Bihar, he moved to fiction film making. He directed his first fiction “Deswa” in 2011 which was the first film in bhojpuri from Bihar to get selected at Indian Panorama section of International Film Festival of India along with many other National and International Film Festivals across the globe.. CM Nitish Kumar and his ministers saw the film and appreciated it. 2012 was 50th year of Bhojpuri Cinema. 
 His next film “Mithila Makhaan” became the first film from Bihar to be made in language of Bihar, in Bihar and won the National Award. It was also selected at IFFSA - Toronto.
 
 “Mithila Makhaan” was released last year on www.bejod.in. His production house is making more films for BejodOTT and now advertisers and sponsors have started coming, there are few free content and some of them are paid premium content.
