About

It’s easy to look at someone’s path and think it’s a straight line. Indeed, many people look at my profile and see exactly that. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. I spent most of my life thinking I’d be a civil engineer who’d make an impact on the built environment. But when you see an opportunity larger than what your current path is, do you stay stagnant on the path you’re on as comfortable as it may seem? Or do you unlearn what you’ve learned to become a beginner again and swing for the fences? I chose the second option. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fast. It wasn’t simple and it was never straightforward. But when you believe that the future will be built on AI and that you and your unique skills can help us get there, the decision becomes extremely easy. I know how I got here. I’m happy with the decisions I made and the opportunities that I have been afforded. But the future is never certain. I have a deep conviction in the power of AI and am dedicated towards increasing humanity’s ability to fully leverage this transformational technology for the better.

Gekit

CoFounder

Jan 2025Present · 1 yr 2 mos · Sunnyvale, California, United States · On-site

  • Honored to be starting Gekit with my cofounders Mike Cafarella (creator of Hadoop) and Siva Sudhir (MIT Data PhD). We're going to do some pretty amazing things at the intersection of Data and AI.

Nvidia

AI Product Leader

Promoted

Jan 2023Jan 2025 · 2 yrs

  • The journey to this role started a long time ago. When I joined NVIDIA, all my customers were raving about Snowflake. And we didn't have a story for how to use NVIDIA technology with them. So I set out to make that happen. Eventually I succeeded and the Snowflake role became its own job, which I am honored to be in today!
  • I build with Snowflake's Product and Engineering teams to deeply embed NVIDIA technologies across LLMs, compute, Generative AI, Data Science and much more. I partner with Snowflake's Marketing and GTM teams to build and amplify our story and put our amazing technology into the hands of as many Snowflake customers as possible!

Senior Developer Relations Manager for Generative AI and Consumer Internet

Jan 2019Jan 2023 · 4 yrs

  • When NVIDIA first reached out to me, I didn't know that the role Developer Relations existed anywhere. I also had NEVER thought about working at NVIDIA. After all, I thought it was JUST a semiconductor company. Or so it seemed. In getting to know the company, a few things became apparent to me. The scope of work was vast, deep and extremely interesting. The people were high quality. The management team was top caliber. I've NEVER regretted a decision in my life that I made solely based on people. And that's exactly what I ended up doing here. I always used to hear the phrase "doesn't matter what your role is. If you see a rocket ship, just get on it". I didn't realize it was a rocket ship at the time, but the whole world does now. And what a ride it's been.
  • This was my first outward facing role at a tech company. In this role, I got to partner and work with the best AI and Machine Learning teams at leading Generative AI Startups and Consumer Internet companies. My scope of work encapsulated Large Language Models, Big Data, Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Text to Image and Text to Video among others.

Ebay

Senior Product Manager, Trust & Data Science

Jan 2017Jan 2018 · 1 yr · San Francisco Bay Area

  • eBay presented an interesting challenge to me with a role that was at the intersection of Product Management (an area I wanted to learn more about) and Machine Learning/Data Science (an area I already had experience in). This represented a progression from being an individual analyzer of data towards being a decision maker who took those insights and used them in order to drive and create real business and product value. Although it was a good learning experience, my time at eBay turned out to be an abject lesson in a lot of things that companies, teams and leaders shouldn’t do. Ultimately, I learned and grew tremendously because of this during the role and immediately after. What would I end up doing next to fully utilize my newfound insights?
  • Other fun fact, but this role actually helped me get my next job as the NVIDIA team I joined was supporting eBay as a customer. I got the NVIDIA job because I knew the customer and turned out I never could’ve gotten the NVIDIA role without this critical experience.

Symantec

Data Scientist

May 2016Sep 2017 · 1 yr 4 mos · Mountain View, CA

  • My first role in the tech industry was at Symantec. And it was here that I got to put into action my skills around understanding and manipulating data to answer and address business challenges. It was a great experience and I made a number of friends who are with me until this day. I learned quite a bit about the field of business intelligence, cybersecurity and cross functional teamwork.
  • Business Intelligence - because the numbers I was crunching were helping us better understand a large consumer facing software subscription business
  • Cybersecurity - The products I worked on helped individual consumers keep their data and information safe online and elsewhere
  • Cross Functional Teamwork - My business stakeholders were primarily marketers who were driving user growth for a large multibillion dollar business. It didn’t matter what numbers I crunched. I had to be able to drive real business impact with them plain and simple.

Insight data science

Data Science Fellow

Jan 2016Apr 2016 · 3 mos · Palo Alto, CA

  • When I wrapped up grad school, I knew I wanted to get into the tech industry. And I wasn’t sure which role made the most sense for me. A mentor told me to seriously consider Data Science as it was a growing field with high demand. And I had a relevant background for it. So of course having a PhD in Engineering from Stanford would be enough to land my first role. Or so I thought. Turned out it wasn’t so easy. So I went to Insight to learn more about this new field and figure out how to land a role that would set me up for long term success. And Insight worked like a charm. The program itself was about 2-3 months during which I got to work on my own data science project, meet others trying to do the same thing and hear from a number of top companies hiring in this space. In the end, I was able to land my first role as a Data Scientist at Symantec and am incredibly grateful to Insight for helping make this happen!

John a. martin & associates, inc.

Structural Engineer

Jan 2007Jan 2008 · 1 yr · Los Angeles, California, United States · On-site

  • Fresh out of school, I was drawn to the structural engineering firm of John A. Martin & Associates. I was impressed with the team and they had done some of the most noteworthy projects on the West Coast and beyond. I enjoyed the work and the people, but realized something was missing. And if I wasn't realizing my potential in a place as great as this one, I may well be in the wrong field altogether. That's the conclusion I ultimately came to. And somehow I managed to still get my Professional Engineer's (PE) license, which I hold until this day. I got to contribute to and design some great buildings. Despite how impressive these buildings were, I was yearning for a different more ambitious challenge.
