About

AI/ML technologist , founder, and former CTO with experience building production-grade AI platforms across text, voice, and vision. I translate advanced machine learning into reliable, high-impact products while building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams. I began in computer vision and video intelligence through academic research at IISc and applied R&D at Honeywell, working on anomaly detection, face detection, tracking, and large-scale visual data systems. I later expanded into biomedical NLP at Strand Life Sciences, building literature mining systems to extract gene–disease associations from millions of PubMed records. I moved into entrepreneurship to help shape the first wave of applied AI, founding Scibler, an AI-powered smart email assistant that debuted on Product Hunt. I led product, UX, and engineering teams to build systems processing millions of messages. Most recently, I co-founded and scaled TrueLark, a category-leading AI customer experience platform for healthcare and local services. As CTO, I built and mentored engineering and AI teams, grew the organization to 60 people at acquisition, and owned the technical roadmap and productionization of rapidly evolving AI technologies, including transformers, LLMs, and agent-based architectures. I drove delivery across web chat, SMS, and voice; integrated with multiple enterprise systems; and led operations in HIPAA- and PCI-compliant environments. I also managed vendor partnerships, budgets, hiring, and AI training teams. I scaled the business to thousands of business and bookings, millions of calls and and led it from inception through acquisition by Weave, including post-merger integration.

  • Lead for product, engineering, and AI strategy. Scaled from seed to an acquisition (May 2025). Directed a global organization across the USA and India, pioneering the first agentic AI platform for healthcare SMBs.
  • Leadership & Strategic Exit:
  • M&A & Due Diligence: Led TrueLark’s technical diligence preparation for the Weave acquisition; coordinated successful audits of codebases, proprietary AI models, and data privacy.
  • Capital & Board Management: Secured $7M+ in funding (Pi Ventures, Speciale Invest). Translated complex AI roadmaps into business ROI for the Board and investors.
  • Architecture Strategy: Designed architecture to maximize velocity and maintainability, allowing a lean team to outperform competitors.
  • Building Global Functions from Scratch:
  • Engineering & Operations: Built and led global teams across Platform, ML, Feature Dev, and Support Engineering squads.
  • AI Training & HITL: Established a proprietary AI trainer organization from zero, developing "human-in-the-loop" frameworks for high-accuracy intent recognition.
  • Support & Enablement: Architected technical support and customer enablement functions, scaling to support thousands of locations.
  • AI Innovation & Product Scale:
  • Agentic AI: Led the transition from LSTM → Transformers → LLMs → Agents, enabling autonomous booking and rescheduling that drove conversion rates.
  • Performance: Achieved >90% automated query resolution through proprietary evaluation frameworks and deep observability.
  • Enterprise Focus: Scaled an AI Control Center with multi-location dashboards and 20+ EHR/PMS integrations (NexHealth, Dentrix, etc.) for DSO workflows.
  • Compliance: Led the organization through HIPAA and PCI-DSS certifications; authored 6 Patents and 4 Papers to secure the acquisition moat.

Strand life sciences

Senior Specialist [Level 6]

Nov 2007Feb 2013 · 5 yrs 3 mos · Bengaluru Area, India

  • Principal Investigator & Algorithm Design Lead | Strand Life Sciences
  • Lead the design and development of intelligent data processing algorithms, specializing in extracting structured insights from massive, unstructured datasets (publications, forums, and internal memos).
  • Key Focus Areas:
  • 1. Biomedical NLP & Information Extraction (2012–2013)
  • Architected a high-scale pipeline to mine decades of PubMed publications for gene-disease associations and genetic variants.
  • Developed custom entity and relation extraction tools to transform millions of abstracts into structured, searchable databases for researchers.
  • 2. Competitive Intelligence & NER Innovation (2009–2011)
  • Dictionary Matching: Engineered an advanced matching system handling symbolic, inflectional, and morphological variants to maximize recall.
  • Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD): Developed a supervised WSD technique that generates its own training sets by leveraging neighboring dictionary terms, solving the "small training set" problem.
  • Entity Extraction: Designed a "Double Bootstrapping" algorithm to autonomously learn new terms and patterns from unannotated data.
  • Tech Stack: Managed full-stack deployment (Java/Grails), indexing (Solr/Lucene/Zoie), and custom visualizations (ExtJS/JavaScript).
  • 3. Sentiment Analysis & Opinion Mining (2007–2008)
  • Developed algorithms to associate opinions with specific product features by modifying NLP grammars for noisy data (blogs/forums).
  • Built contextual entity resolution algorithms to attribute sentiments to specific product models, even when not explicitly named in a sentence.
  • Additional Projects:
  • Historical NLP: Extracted non-standard location names from colonial-era documents.
  • Knowledge Discovery: Built discovery tools for Indian medicinal herbs and word-association measures for intent-free data browsing.

  • Early work on adaptive, unsupervised video understanding for large-scale surveillance systems.
  • Led development of an end-to-end moving object detection, tracking, and classification system, with components deployed in Honeywell products.
  • Led design of people and pedestrian detection algorithms for surveillance scenes with high occlusion, non-rigid motion, and wide appearance variation.
  • Developed a part-based detection framework using AdaBoost to learn discriminative body parts, enabling fast and robust detection under partial occlusion.
  • Designed motion detection pipelines using Gaussian Mixture Models, augmented with optical flow constraints to suppress false positives from background motion (e.g., foliage, water).
  • Applied Markov Random Fields (MRFs) to enforce spatial consistency in object detection across frames.
  • Architected and implemented particle filter–based tracking for robust prediction and continuity under noise, occlusion, and appearance changes.
  • Led exploration and evaluation of adaptive appearance models balancing rapid object variation with robustness to environmental noise.
  • Co-developed an RBF-based classifier to categorize tracked objects as human, vehicle, or non-target.
  • Drove the full system lifecycle: data collection and ground truthing, algorithm selection, metric definition, and performance evaluation.
  • Served as principal investigator and primary contributor to the tracking architecture, guiding work from research through product integration.
