  • Use finite element analysis and engineering principals to assess structures and designs in a wide range of applications and industries. In addition, provide technical support, informal advice, methods development and training to SSA's Abaqus customers, for Abaqus and other Simulia portfolio products.
  • Perform finite element analysis on a consultancy basis using Abaqus, with pre- and post-processing performed using Abaqus CAE and complimented with scripts written using the Python programming language. The analyses may be stress analyses, thermal analyses, modal analyses, modal superposition or direct dynamic analyses, fatigue assessments, creep analyses. This may involve the use of Lagrangian, Eulerian or meshless/particle based models. Multiphysics simulations may required, involving coupling between implicit FEA, explicit FEA, CFD and/or bespoke modelling software.
  • Produce and review project proposals including technical and budget content, manage technical deliverables against timelines and budgets, produce and review detailed engineering reports.
  • Clients come from a diverse range of different industries, including oil and gas, energy, rail, and marine applications. Project timescales may vary from a few days to several years.
