• I freelanced for almost a year out of the Founders & Coders space, managing and working in a team to build MVP apps for early stage founders. I also set up projects for the other developers as often we were oversubscribed. I also worked on a short term project in silicon valley for a company that makes laptops and phones that you will have heard of.

• After a year of working with tech start-ups at Crowdcube I left to learn to code. I wanted to be able to build things like the founders I was helping to fundraise.
• I was accepted onto the Founders & Coders course with just 2 weeks to hit their entrance requirements and gain one of the 16 places in the intake. I spent 3 months on the course, building a project a week.

• One of the first 4 employees hired into the Crowdcube London office. I was finding and raising investment with start-ups at a time when few people had heard of equity crowdfunding. The company was at 25 people when I joined and at 75 by the time I left a year later.

• I helped run Escape the City evening events for four months, around one a week. I was looking to find an interesting start-up to work at and Escape the City had a great network of entrepreneurs who came in to speak.
• I also enjoyed being part of the community, and meeting ambitious people further along in their careers who were looking to jump from the city jobs they'd been working at.
• I wrote for the Escape the City blog (link below) on why a lot of people leave university feeling like a city job is their only option.
