Amanda Slavin — CEO
I turn attention into action and sustained engagement across technology, media, and workforce systems. For more than two decades, I have applied this work across commercial environments, designing engagement systems within marketing, community design, education, and technology. From the work I have done with organizations like Google, American Express, Coca-Cola, and Zappos to building my own platforms, my focus has remained consistent: turning attention into active participation and creating experiences people return to over time.I developed the Seventh Level Engagement Framework during my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, informed by the research of Bangert-Drowns and Pyke, and tested it across workforce, marketing, and learning environments. In parallel, I built original technology to operationalize this work, including a provisional patent now integrated into LearnCard. I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Frequency, an engagement engine that personalizes how people interact with content and systems by adapting to emotional, cognitive, and motivational patterns. It integrates into LMS and CMS environments to improve participation, confidence, and outcomes. I also serve as Chief Development Officer at the Learning Economy Foundation, leading global partnerships and building open infrastructure for learning and work with partners including Oxford Saïd Business School, Roblox, and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, with a focus on metacognition and digital well being. The framework has been taught at Yale, Howard, and Emerson and scaled to more than 1,400 professors through an open curriculum with HubSpot. I am also the author of The Seventh Level, a best selling book on engagement and human behavior. As an advisor and angel investor, I have worked with more than 40 companies, applying my methodology to product and experience design, and I support Antler as a Visiting Partner. I co host From the Culture with Marcus Collins, exploring how attention and engagement shape internal culture and organizational performance. My work has been featured in Time, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Forbes, and Entrepreneur, and shared on stages including TEDx, SXSW, Web Summit, and the United Nations.
