About

I’m an award-winning tech journalist and an experienced producer/host of tech-focused video content. I’ve held numerous leadership positions in tech publications, most recently as the Editor-in-Chief of eWeek, where I managed everything from SEO to social media to budget issues. Most significantly, I oversaw a team of journalists and determined the publication’s direction. For instance, after the launch of ChatGPT I pivoted to focus on AI, and directed coverage of large language models, agentic AI, cybersecurity and AI, AGI, and AI’s effect on the culture at large. Throughout my journalistic career I’ve produced and hosted video content focusing on tech. I’ve spoken with hundreds of leading tech executives on camera, from major companies like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Google, along with a vast array of startups and emerging firms. These countless conversations provided me with a world-class education about the tech sector. It helps that I live in the San Francisco Bay area and attend events where today’s leading innovators are socializing. My first love is writing, and I’m a trained professional writer. I’ve authored two books about tech, and I won an PRSA Excellence in Technology award for an article about Hurricane Sandy; and an ASPBE Award for Excellence for a feature I wrote about AI titled, “Artificial Intelligence: When Will the Robots Rebel?” Additionally, I’m fulltime student of American culture and the forces that push and pull this most extraordinary ecosystem, from social media to socio-economic trends to the constant shift of historical forces. I’ve written two books relating to the American scene; to promote the books I appeared on The Jon Stewart Show, PBS News Hour, CNN and MSNBC. I’m a constant and voracious reader, and have been all my life. From nonfiction books to novels to newspapers to a stream of Web-based content – I believe that education never stops. In particular, I’m fascinated by technology’s larger impact on culture, how it touches education, healthcare, the arts, relationships. Technology, for better and worse, is now profoundly reshaping human life. Can we make it a force for good?
