About

I am the Founder and CEO of French Connections HCB, where we advise individuals and families on complex cross-border relocation, residency and long-term settlement decisions, with a particular focus on France, the UK and Europe. My work sits at the intersection of legal process, international mobility and practical execution, ensuring clients move countries with clarity, compliance and confidence. I was born in Auch, in the Gers, and raised within a Franco-British family whose history spans Scotland, England, France and the former British Empire. I am deeply proud of the heritage behind the Hammond-Chambers-Borgnis name, which reflects not only lineage, but values of duty, guardianship and long-term responsibility. On one side of my family sits the Bulloch dynasty of Scotland, a lineage that rose from hereditary millers in Stirlingshire to become major industrial figures of the 19th century. Through Bulloch Lade & Co., the family owned and transformed some of Scotland’s most significant distilleries, including Caol Ila on Islay, Benmore and Loch Katrine, while also building a vast global trading empire through Bulloch Brothers & Co., one of the “Big Four” rice firms of British Burma. Royal Warrants were held, global shipping fleets were operated, and entire supply chains were built across continents. On the other side stands the Hammond-Chambers line, rooted in the highest levels of British legal and public service. My great-great-grandfather, Robert Sharp Borgnis Hammond-Chambers KC, served as King’s Counsel during the reign of Queen Victoria and moved within the intellectual and judicial circles of his time. The triple-barrelled surname itself is a reminder that this legacy was shaped not only by blood, but by guardianship, friendship and responsibility, values that remain central to how I lead today. Across generations, my family served the Crown through law, military command, architecture and education, from the Black Watch and the Royal Navy to the Royal Household and the courts of England. That tradition of service, structure and accountability strongly influences my approach to business. French Connections HCB is the modern expression of that inheritance. We focus on substance over shortcuts, process over promises, and long-term outcomes over quick wins. Our clients rely on us to navigate regulation, jurisdictions and life transitions with precision and discretion. If you are considering a move to France or structuring a cross-border future, I welcome meaningful professional connections.
