TEDDY KOLLEK AWARD 2013 Sonja Dinner, President of THE DEAR Foundation, received in Jerusalem on May 2, 2013 The International Teddy Kollek Award for her longstanding work in Jerusalem for a peaceful coexistence between Jews, Muslims and Christians. Former award winners have been among others the late Swiss banker Hans J. Baer and former Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Sonja Dinner's philanthropic work, as an individual and as President of the Board of The DEAR Foundation in Switzerland, transcends religious and ethnic divisiveness. Sonja knows that the grim face of poverty is the same worldwide. Sonja's philanthropy started in 2000 and using her business connections, she created awareness and raised funds for the causes she holds dear. After a successful career as CEO and primary shareholder of the information technology company Heyde AG until 2002, Sonja used her skills to independently advise Swiss Banks and its customers on philanthropic and huminatiarian investments. Sonja lives by the motto that education and improved living conditions are the only way to change the fate of those who are poverty stricken. Sonja has ambitious goals: give as many children as possible a meaningful childhood and empower the poor to live a dignified and independent existence, free from charitable handouts. This work takes her not only to Israel and the Middle East, but also to all parts of Africa, Asia, Russia,Central and South America. It is these very goals that drives Sonja and the DEAR Foundation's committment to some of the most needy of Jerusalem's children and women. Sonja resides in Switzerland. She is a frequent visitor to Jerusalem and is personally involved with the projects the DEAR Foundation supports. Ein Aufruf an alle Schweizer, sich an der Solidaritäts Aktion für COVID19 Opfer im eigenen Land zu engagieren. Wir wollen u.a. Kleinunternehmer, KMUs, ü50, Niedriglohnempfänger, Schulabgänger ohne Stelle unterstützen und/oder umschulen und finanziell temporär stützen.
Die Schwester-Stiftung The DEAR Foundation hat seit 2006 aus eigenen Vermögen jedes Jahr grosse Entwicklungsprojekte im Ausland finanziert und wird das auch weiter tun. Solidarität ist weltweit wichtig - auch in der Schweiz.
Die DEAR Foundation-Solidarité Suisse leistet ausschliesslich in der Schweiz Hilfe über Branchenverbände und Organisationen, um möglichst die Betroffenen direkt zu unterstützen.
Diese Krise bedarf der finanziellen Hilfe aller, die den sozialen Frieden und unsere Freiheiten in der Schweiz bewahren wollen.

Sustainable Development Aid in Africa in Countries which are not war-torn
Have not heard a more beautiful Sentence in these difficult Times from the poorest People in Africa. Worldwide many Orgnaizations change the course of poor countries by Micro-Credits - but only if they are well implemented. This accompanied by Education is the only human way to help the poorest around the world. And to make it clear - we are not talking about exploiting People and Natural Resources by huge Profit-oriented Facturies and Corporate Groups in these Countries which unfortunately happens today in a new Dimension.
Education in their Home Countries is the one sustainable way to go. Not to lure People away from their Countries with false Promises and then detain them under inhumane conditions in Ghettos in foreign Cultures where they will not find any way of a decent human Life for Generations to come.
Could somebody deliver this message to Angela Merkel and all the other European Leaders who have no understanding of what a decent Life in Africa looks like? I keep busy whith what is my main Competence - sustainable and human Development Aid - and they should stick to their Business - Politics in their own countries, the Challenges there are already big enough.
