• Leading Web AI (executing machine learning models at the edge on device in a web browser) at Google representing teams such as Chrome, TensorFlow.js, MediaPipe, Core ML, and Visual Blocks globally with a focus on driving the future of Web based Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence across products both internally and externally as part of Google's "AI Developer Relations" org.
• Day to day duties are same as prior position (Senior Developer Advocate for TensorFlow.js) but with the added responsibilities of providing strategic direction and growth and being the technical subject matter expert for the growing number of Developer Advocates and Developer Relations Engineers on the team working in the Web ML space here at Google.
• Extra duties include (but not limited to):
• 1. Defining the future longer term strategies of the Dev Rel team for Web based Machine learning.
• 2. Onboarding and enabling new DREs to do their best work and being a go to POC for advice in the Web ML space.
• 3. Strategically prioritize current efforts of the group to reflect current changes in the industry or needs from end users to create a world class product experience for developers
• 4. Inspire the world to embrace, use, and innovate with "Web ML" or "Web AI" at scale - that is, machine learning in JavaScript / Node.js / Web Assembly, WebGPU etc pushing what is possible in the browser and beyond.

• Positioned within the TensorFlow & RMI (research + machine intelligence) engineering group lead by Jeff Dean at Google helping to spread the love for machine learning globally using web technologies across the stack. From client side in browser using pure JavaScript on the front end, to Node.js on the back end, and even through hosted environments such as Google Cloud's AutoML that supports transfer learning using your own data via our cloud based interface.
• As the 1st developer advocate in developer relations for TensorFlow.js I help in all aspects of the DevRel life-cycle, including but not limited to:
• 1. Being the public face of TensorFlow.js to our developers globally by:
• Organising / speaking at industry leading conferences around the world to educate / inspire people to take their 1st steps with ML and TensorFlow.js
• Helping developers get started through easy to understand tutorials on our official / partner sites
• Creating inspiring prototypes, understandable documentation, tech blogs, + multimedia (YouTube channel)
• Providing code examples / contributions to our open source efforts (GitHub)
• Consulting with key industry leading partners to help push the boundaries of ML in JS
• Sponsoring, organising, + mentoring at hackathons
• Being active where our developers are generally speaking / maintaining social presence online
• Creating in depth courses on popular digital learning sites, at universities, and anyone else interested in teaching TensorFlow
• 2. I also represent all developers outside of Google to be their voice back to the TensorFlow engineering team so that I can provide feedback to help improve our core offering, rapidly identify bugs, and add new features and generally create the best possible product for our audience.
• Excited to help everyone, no matter what their experience level, to take their first steps in the ML / AI world and empower them to be creative and solve real problems that may just change the world, and even their lives.

• 20% project to present and mentor the winners of the Google AI Impact challenge for social good - a program to support using emerging technologies to help us address big social, humanitarian and environmental problems.
• Over the next 6 months I will act as an AI coach to one of the winners to ensure their success in building a robust, scalable, and accurate AI system to solve a real world social problem.
• For this I have been paired with Wadhwani in India to help them grow their solution to identify pests in farmer's crops to reduce the use of fertiliser and to save money so the farmer can support themselves and their dependants. Left unchecked these pests can destroy over 50% of the yield of a crop leading to devastating effects for the farmer and the people who depend on them.

• Working with the ZOO team at Google as a Creative Technologist / Web Engineer / Research Engineer
• TLDR: I get to play with the hottest tech / APIs in the industry from both Google and third parties to create jaw dropping digital experiences that inspire both the general public and top tier brands globally.
• The ZOO is a creative think tank tasked with using the latest Google technologies to create technical world firsts for our largest brands. It is my role to know something about everything going on in the tech world and then innovate in this space. I rapidly prototype new technical ideas to prove a concept's feasibility. It could be anything - from the physical (eg smart mirrors and drones) to pure software implementations (eg machine learning), or a hybrid of the two. Whatever is best suited for the task. We work with the world's leading creative agencies to then scale those prototypes out and captivate the world.
• As part of a team of Creative Technologists, I generated a forward thinking tech-based vision for the ZOO. I was regularly called on to deploy creative and technical skills on huge projects for top advertisers. It was great to have the opportunity to dream big and develop cutting-edge creative technology concepts that redefined interactive storytelling.

• Leading efforts for product outreach in the region growing team's network both internally / externally and encouraging knowledge share
• Technical consultancy to wider team in ideation sessions to ensure concepts were feasible
• Training / mentoring other Googler's in the latest web technologies such as Google Cloud, Custom Elements / latest JavaScript APIs and more
• Innovating / creating rapid prototypes for global firsts aimed at leading global brands and internal teams using a mixture of web technologies and bespoke hardware mashups

• In a team known as "Creative Innovation" helping to develop bespoke technical web solutions (both front end and back end) for Google's largest clients (Tier 1 marketers, publishers, and agencies) and internal teams globally.
• We typically work on projects related to advertising / rich media that have never been made/standardized before to deliver a scalable solution using the Google infrastructure / best practices utilizing the latest web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ActionScript and Java - in short we often attempt to make what is considered infeasible to do in-house at other companies, possible. Typical clients include (but not limited to) HP, Canal+, Coca Cola, Unilever, Renault, YouTube, MSN, Yahoo, MySpace, to name but a few.
• Our team consists of sharp, analytical minds - we all enjoy solving complex strategic, operational, and technical challenges for the world's largest publishers and advertisers. As a member of the Creative Innovation team, I help to push the boundaries of the online display industry which is Google's next $10 billion+ dollar business - display advertising through our innovative solutions and by providing technical training/presentations at industry specific events globally, delighting customers.
• As part of my 20% time at Google I work with many teams within Google globally who enjoy making use of my hybrid skill set such as ZooX, Location / BLE, Developer Relations, and StreetView to name just a few. I have also been a mentor at Google Campus since April 2012 where I advise and help high-tech startups in London. Campus is Europe’s newest co-working space / entrepreneur community for high-tech digital startups. We host mentoring programmes, speaker series, networking events and help great ideas come to life by inspiring others. I mentor in a variety of subject areas such as:
