About

Since graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Geology, I have devoted my entire career to environmental work, starting as an environmental scientist for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Over the course of several years working in different roles in both the public and private sectors, I gained the leadership experience to match my passion for environmental, health and safety (EHS) improvement. My dedication to EHS eventually inspired me to become commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, where I reported directly to the state’s governor. During my time as commissioner, I was instrumental in driving cutting-edge policy initiatives to protect Minnesota’s water, air and overall quality of life. In 2006, I joined Koch companies and have served as EHS and compliance director for Koch, Inc., and as a leader of EHS, compliance and biofuels operations at Flint Hills Resources. In my roles with Koch, I value the alignment of EHS responsibility and the company’s business philosophy. Central to both is the commitment to using resources wisely to make products that improve people’s lives. That commitment to a responsible future is a cause that I am proud to support.
