• Common Voice is a project to help make voice recognition open to everyone. Developers need an enormous amount of voice data to build voice recognition technologies, and currently, most of that data is expensive and proprietary. • I was part of the Technical Experts Panel (TEP) tapped by TESDA to formulate the Competency Standards (CS) for Computer Security Incident Handling I and II. The competencies published by TESDA outline the qualifications a person needs to achieve in providing an appropriate response to an event or incident, ensuring efficient escalation and ticketing, and upholding the privacy and confidentiality of all stakeholders involved. Upon completion of the necessary training and passing the required assessment, course completers will receive a National Certificate (NC) and may be considered for positions of Computer Security Incident Handler (L1), Computer Security Support Staff, or Computer Security Help Desk Staff.

Ushahidi is a partner in this $55M fund that is working towards a world in which open, effective and participatory governance is the norm and not the exception.
• Robert was tapped as technical mentor for two projects in the Philippines involving transparency monitoring of Local Government Unit (LGU) transactions and a centralized database of medicines and medical equipment at all government health facilities. Both projects won in the Making All Voices Count (MAVC) pitching competition in May 2015 with theme: “Resilience and Response to Natural Disasters in the Philippines” and were awarded with GBP10,000 as support funding.
