• For startups that are just getting off the ground I provide support in hiring an initial engineering team, laying out engineering practices, and defining an architectural approach for the initial MVP.
• For startups that have found product/market fit I consult on how to adjust engineering practices and architecture in a post-MVP world where the software being built (and decisions being made!) will likely persist for a lot longer.
• I love working with engineering organizations that are starting to move past a single team and/or a single codebase. This is a key inflection point for any engineering org. Folks discover that what has been worked well in the past will likely not work so well in the future. I provide guidance on how to adjust engineering practices, SDLC and architecture to enable your teams and software to scale.
• I also provide training and mentorship for teams getting started with new technologies or engineering techniques. This support often has a focus on agile engineering practices - things like test automation and continuous delivery.
• I have been building software and leading teams for about 20 years, working in a wide range of tech stacks and industry verticals. I’ve worked at startups where I was the first engineer and advised engineering leadership at Fortune 500 companies.

• Created and subsequently open-sourced Frank, an acceptance testing tool for iOS applications.

• Pete worked as Tech Lead on several consumer-facing web applications in the online marketing space.
• Pete developed on various technology stacks but mainly worked with C# ASP.NET and Ruby on Rails. He drove the overall architecture of his products. This included developing a RESTful API to allow the integration of a Rails backend with an Adobe Flex RIA frontend. He also spearheaded a successful JMS-based integration with a legacy perl backend system.
• In addition to heading up his team's product implementation he also mentored junior engineers and was involved in various cross-product architecture initiatives. He also made contributions to various Flex-related open source projects.
• While at Lyris Pete also helped in the transformation of the engineering organization to a Scrum-based agile approach. This enabled his team to deliver new functionality to production every 3 weeks.
