• During my internship at API Ispat & Powertech Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Real Group, I gained hands-on exposure to the financial operations of one of India’s growing integrated steel manufacturers. I worked closely with the finance team, supporting real-time financial processes and coordinating across subsidiaries like RIPL, RIEPL, and SIPPL.
• Responsibilities Undertaken:
• Processed vendor invoices, managed Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and handled credit and debit notes.
• Assisted senior accountants with TDS/TCS deductions and ensured accuracy in statutory compliance.
• Learned to review and process letters of credit while monitoring cash flow positions across group companies.
• Operated ERP platforms like Lighthouse ERP to manage purchase orders, vendor ledgers, and GST documentation.
• Key Learnings:
• Understood the importance of inter-subsidiary collaboration for liquidity management and financial alignment.
• Developed a practical understanding of financial accuracy, compliance, and timely documentation in real-world tax environments.
• Enhanced my skills in using Excel and ERP systems for reconciliations, vendor verification, and financial analysis.
