Mylo James — Software Engineer
I’m a software engineer who builds human-centered automation. I like taking messy, manual workflows and turning them into simple systems that people actually enjoy using. My sweet spot is the intersection of product thinking, reliable engineering, and practical AI. Over the last 4+ years I’ve shipped production work across healthcare, retail, and global logistics. At CVS, I helped modernize core account and login flows from Angular to a Next.js and React architecture, then built identity and access experiences that reduce friction without lowering the bar on security. That included JWT-based single sign-on into Epic MyChart so patients can move between systems without logging in twice. At WiseTech Global, I supported logistics operations by improving dashboards end to end, from UI delivery to backend changes in C#, working within in-house legacy tooling and real operational constraints. Outside of work, I build portfolio projects to learn fast and to stay grounded in what is actually possible today. MyloWare is my AI automation project where I explore multi-agent workflows and human-in-the-loop approvals using LangGraph, FastAPI, and modern observability. I treat it like a real system, not a demo, with attention to integrations, failure modes, and the human experience of “is this tool helping me or fighting me.” I also rebuilt an old project, Isntgram, to keep my full-stack skills sharp, from a Next.js front end to a NestJS API and PostgreSQL, with strong focus on secure auth boundaries and clean developer experience. I care a lot about teaching and mentorship. I was a software engineering instructor at App Academy, and I still enjoy helping engineers build confidence through clear explanations, strong habits, and practical feedback. Right now I’m especially motivated by modernization work. Updating legacy systems is where impact lives, and I’m excited about bringing AI into that work responsibly. Not hype, not magic. Useful tools that respect people, reduce busywork, and make services feel simpler and more trustworthy. If you’re working on workflow automation, legacy modernization, or shipping AI features that real humans can rely on, I’d love to connect.
