  • I was the main designer, developer and supervisor building a brand new pipeline with robust asset management and production tracking features. The pipeline was designed to be flexible to accommodate different types of projects - TV series, Commercials and Full length features. Naming conventions, data dependencies, entity hierarchies, relationships, access control and Integrations with dcc softwares like Maya, Nuke and Houdini were configurable for each show. The Pipeline back-end used MongoDb database. The client server system was RESTful using Flask framework. All front end UI tools were written using PyQt. I developed the API bindings with third party production management software packages like Ftrack and Shotgun.
  • Apart from development, I am in charge of ensuring projects running on current pipeline run smoothly. This entails continuous bug fixing, adding new features and new tool sets and integrating new software packages or plugins.

I implemented process improvements, new features, and fixed bugs in Perl for the proprietary digital production pipeline, used by over a thousand TDs on a daily basis for multiple productions at multiple locations Los Angeles, Mumbai and Hyderabad. My typical day involved lots of troubleshooting, profiling and documentation of code, debugging and developing new tools to optimize the work flow in the studio and automate the time consuming non-creative work. I developed automation and reporting tools for the Render department apart from debugging render artifacts.
