• Makemytrip (NASDAQ: MMYT) is India’s largest online travel company. Joined Makemytrip when they acquired my startup, mygola.
• + Youngest member on Makemytrip's Leadership team. This was a 12 people team, which comprised of CXOs & few select leaders.
• + First VP of New Products for the company. Reported to the COO.
• + Worked with CEO & COO to identify key strategic areas to create new, large business lines.
• + Led a team of PMs (3), Design (1 full time + consultants), Engineering (25), Business & Ops (5)
• + Evaluated companies for acquisition. Also advised portfolio companies.
• + Co-led the set up of a new 300 people office in Bangalore. This was the first product and dev centre beyond the HQ (based in Gurgaon).
• Key Initiatives
• + Hotels Marketplace-India's hotel market suffers from rigid pricing, which undercuts value that hotels can capture. Conceptualised, built and launched a mobile-first marketplace that enabled hotels & travelers to connect directly and privately. This unlocked great deals for travelers while helping hotels fill more rooms, with more flexible pricing. Led Business development, Product, Design and Engineering for this.
• + Alternate Accommodations Marketplace-Built & launched a marketplace to help connect travelers with highly fragmented, offline vacation rentals and home-stays. Aggregated thousands of properties and got them online for the first time. Built sophisticated mobile functionality to deal with poor connectivity scenarios. This became one of the top strategic areas for the company.

• Mygola was acquired by Makemytrip in early 2015.
• Traveling is fun but planning and researching a trip is not. This is the problem that mygola set out to solve. We built & retained a solid team, that lasted roller coaster madness that is startup life. We conceptualized, built, launched and scaled multiple products, through multiple pivots. We won awards (PhocusWright Travel Innovation), won patents, got featured on App Store and were loved by our users.
