Seasoned engineering executive with ~20 years of experience driving innovation, transformative business growth and engineering excellence across large, global organizations. Abhita leads Google Drive's engineering team: a globally distributed org of 400+ engineers across 4 timezones that enable a billion+ consumers and enterprise users to store and access their content securely in the cloud. In this role, her hands-on leadership spans a variety of areas including large-scale distributed systems, front-end technologies, data security, privacy, system reliability, regulatory compliance and crafting GenAI features that enhance user productivity. In addition to leading technical strategy and execution, she excels at partnering closely with Product Management, UX, Data Science, Sales, Marketing and multiple cross-org engineering teams in managing the overall business. Prior to Google Drive, Abhita spent 13 years leading Engineering teams in Google Ads. Her experience in Ads spanned everything from product engineering to core backend infrastructure serving ads on mobile apps, web, video and programmatic. Over the years, the products/systems Abhita and her teams have built are some of Google’s largest business-critical systems handling XXXM queries per second, 10s of billions of dollars in annual revenue and used by billions of users. Prior to Google, Abhita worked at Yahoo! where she had the opportunity to build multiple components of Yahoo’s Advertising business from scratch. Abhita started her career at Oracle, where she worked on Oracle’s enterprise management suite of products. Abhita holds a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
