• Integrate Apache MINA into server communication code to interface with new cloud based station logger. Implemented a new protocol using Google Protocol Buffers and a Java API. Designed and developed a universal Transfer Function library to turn raw units of any supported sensor types into Engineering Units. Designed and developed an ETL job that could transform and move thousands of data points a second to long-term storage database. Implemented Over-The-Air Firmware updates for new station logger. Further develop and improve servers testing infrastructure and refactor the code to modern design patterns.

• Developed Java code to interface with new lines of Data Loggers, which included code to interpret and respond to firmware commands. Redesign of many Swing based UIs to take advantage of new UI tools (JFormDesigner) and to make the code more modular and testable. Worked along side QA and others to internationalize and localize desktop application. Collaborating to adapt legacy software to a more modular and testable design, including rewrites, refactors, and designs of test suites. Tests includes use of EasyMock, Mockito, JUnit, and Cobertura. All development was done using agile methods (Scrum).
