• Managed PhD intern for Wear Compose experiment, including scoping project, conducting 1:1 meetings, and resolving blockers. Assisted junior engineers with Android-specific topics and design document preparation.
• Resolved critical performance bottlenecks, reducing Wear OS jank rates by 5% and improving memory consumption and rendering stability.
• Owned the development and maintenance of components responsible for notifications, tiles, and watch faces. Proactively improve code quality, conducted bug triaging, health monitoring, and system design reviews.
• Led a team effort to redesign and improve the lock screen component of the Wear OS ecosystem and AOSP. Contributed to improving documentation, user experience, and stability, ensuring the component is 100% fault tolerant.
• Designed and implemented the newly invented Wear SDK component and APIs serving watch face widgets. Met strict Android API requirements and implemented comprehensive metrics collection and testing infrastructure, including a Wear Test Suite for OEMs device certification.
• Conducted research into Flutter and SwiftUI best practices and designed the LazyGrid API for Jetpack Compose.
