• Was a member of the execution team which delivered the first commercial oil from Majnoon Oil field in Iraq. This project had major impact on Oil and gas geopolitics. This project helped Shell mark its entry into Iraq as an IOC operator.
• Execution of operations in hostile environment marked by political instability, remnants of war still in the oil field, safety in war zone and no female employee in the camp.
• Involved in the execution of 18 oil wells, including formulating well proposals, monitoring daily real time operations & execution.
• Reporting the execution results to Ministry of Oil, Iraq and SOC, the NOC of Iraq & liaison on long term and short-term decisions.
• Supervising the integrated team of mudlogging unit on rig site comprising of staff from over 7 countries.

• Worked extensively on paleontology and sequence stratigraphy of Himalayas. This included extensive field work in off beat Himalayan terrains for a long time. Also was in interiors of Tamil Nadu for a long period exposed to carbonate mines. Research topics are listed below:
• Intensive Study of active tectonics of the Himalayan Frontal Thrust(HFT) and interpretation of Paleoseismic events.
• Tectonics of the Indo-Gangetic flood plains and prospects for hydrocarbon exploration in that area
• The generalized use of well log data for stratigraphic correlation in the Barail formation of Assam.
• A year long dissertation on the outcrop sequence stratigraphy of the Niniyur Formation, Cauvery basin, Tamil Nadu using multiproxy methods employing geochemical analysis, microfacies analysis and paleontological study.
• The micropaleontological study of the molassic sediments from Nyoma, Ladakh, J&K. Pioneer in reporting a rodent molar tooth from this area.
