Nirmal Kumar — CEO
I am an aerospace engineer with a deep-seated passion for rockets and gas turbine engines, specialising in solving complex propulsion related problem statements. In my current role as a Propulsion Engineer at Skyroot Aerospace, I have made significant contributions to both solid and liquid propulsion systems for the Vikram series launch vehicles. My work includes: Solid Propulsion: Designing propellant grain, performing grain burnback analysis and developing performance prediction models to predict thrust and pressure data accurately for Vikram Stage 1, 2 & 3 solid motors. Liquid Propulsion: Optimizing designs for key subsystems like the thrust chamber, injector and regenerative cooling channels using CFD to enhance the performance of the Orbital Adjustment Module (OAM). Currently, I am working on developing a Methalox engine for the Vikram-2 launch vehicle as a key part of the team. My contributions involve engine cycle analysis, system studies, combustion device design and performing high-fidelity combustion, flow & thermal analysis for the subsystems. My ultimate goal is to continually advance propulsion technology and help push the boundaries of space exploration.
