• Lead a team developing data-driven dialog manager for Alexa to bring conversational experience to users.
• Designed and implemented the infrastructure for Alexa conversational AI team, including one Alexa third-party skill (MovieBot) to collect conversational interaction from real Alexa users, a dialog simulator trained with RNN to augment collected data and simulate the environment, and a dialog agent to perform actions with its policy trained with reinforcement learning (including DQN, dueling DDQN, and PPO) in the simulated environment.
• Achieved similar success rate with 20% less clarification questions in one Alexa skill (MovieBot).

• Built a startup aiming at making life convenient using conversation AI and spoken language technology with a team from Harvard and MIT.
• Launched two core products: Cockatoo news and Alfred. Cockatoo news is a bot delivering popular news and providing conversational user experience. Alfred is a hotel management system including a bot to collect customer in-room requests, and a backend interface for request visualization and organization technology.
