David is a seasoned semiconductor and systems entrepreneur and leader with over 20 years of experience in the field of computational imaging and visual awareness. He is currently the Chief Scientist at Ubotica Technologies, where he is responsible for deploying edge AI solutions for diverse domains such as space, robotics, and consumer electronics. Previously, he co-founded and served as the CTO of Movidius, a company that developed mobile vision processor technology and was acquired by Intel in 2016. At Movidius, he led the design and architecture of the Myriad VPU products, which incorporated hardware sparsity support, SHAVE VLIW microarchitecture, and CMX interconnect and memory fabric. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and has multiple patents, publications, and awards in his name.
