About

I love playing with data and working on building data-driven systems. Currently at Avature, where we develop a highly configurable cloud-based platform mostly used in the Talent industry, but that it's so flexible, we can configure to do almost anything. As part of the Product Engineering Enabling team, and in my role of Data Director, I plan and oversee cross-team development efforts for the company's strategic initiatives. I'm also part of the Application Design Committee, where we discussed the long-term roadmap of the system. I tend to write a lot more on 𝕏, especially about Tech & AI. • Projects I'm involved include an Event Sourcing system to consolidate data changes, Reporting & Analytics initiatives, Automation, Database caching and performance, and Flow-based solution design, among others.
  • I'm also part of the Application Design Committee, a group that works with the CEO to define strategic planning and defining technology stacks for the future.

Promoted

Jan 2014 – May 2018 · 4 yrs 4 mos

  • I lead the development of the reporting framework at Avature. We build a custom full stack reporting product. My responsibilities included building the team from scratch, hiring, designing initial specifications and deciding on the technology platform. I've also started two teams that uses the feature to create reports for our clients.
  • During these years I've also work as manager and techlead for other related teams, like the Lists engine of the product. Teams I managed were 5 to 10 members each, with Developers, QAs and Analysts.

Data Analyst / Manager

Nov 2010 – Jan 2014 · 3 yrs 2 mos

  • I was the first member of the Data team, with the objective of supporting our client's data moving in and out of the system. The team specialized in providing integrations and tools to do those things that the application was not ready for yet. I built an integration framework from scratch, with capabilities like transferring and encrypting/decrypting files, emailing, alerts, error reporting, scheduling, data transformation, always with the objective of uploading and downloading client data to/from our main application.
  • I managed the team those years, growing it and splitting it in two for specialization (data requests vs reports).

4tm

Co-Founder

Feb 2001 – Oct 2010 · 9 yrs 8 mos · Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • With a group of friends from the University we founded 4TM after graduation. 4TM allowed me to try and experiment with technologies that other employers I had at that time didn’t have. During those days I was working as a DBA, while 4TM kept me involved with software development by building web applications. I mainly focused on using open source technologies and adhering to Open Standards, something that was not too common in the early 2000. I also did consulting on Oracle and *nix administration, offering remote work and monitoring (which was a novelty back in the days). I stopped when I joined Avature, where I found the freedom to work on what (and how) I liked most.
